The KA2284 was designed as a monolithic integrated circuit specifically for 5-dot LED level meter drivers. This audio level indicator comes with a built-in rectifying amplifier and is suitable for AC/DC level meters such as VU meters or signal meters. KA2284 is a logarithmic display driver IC. And it is Bar type of display driver using a 5-Dot LED. The display includes 5 LEDs – 3 green, 1 yellow, and 1 red-lit in sequence as the input voltage increases. The range for the display set via a single-turn potentiometer
