The LM124-N series is designed with four independent, high gain, internally compensated amplifiers. This op-amp is specifically designed to function over a broad variety of voltages from a single power supply source. It is also feasible to operate with a divided supply. Meanwhile, to achieve the non-inverting input function, these amplifiers require a current mirror. The low supply current drain of the LM124-N series is virtually independent of the amount of the supply voltage. As a result, these devices have a huge output voltage swing and a wide bandwidth. The LM124-N series has been intended to operate in the temperature range of –40°C to 85°C.
The LM124-N is an operational amplifier that uses just one power supply voltage, has true-differential inputs, and operates in the linear model with a common-mode input voltage of 0 VDC. With little change in performance characteristics, these amplifiers can run over a wide variety of power supply voltages. Additionally, the amplifier may operate at 25°C with a minimum supply voltage of 2.3 VDC.
The 100-dB DC voltage gain of the LM124-N series amplifier is impressive. This makes it suitable for a variety of applications, such as transducer amplifiers and dc gain blocks. All standard op-amp circuits may now be implemented more readily in single-power supply systems. The series, for example, may be powered directly from the typical 5-V power supply voltage used in digital systems. Also, the interface electronics will be simply provided without the need for extra 15V power sources.
