This XR-2206 high-precision signal generator DIY kit is a professional product used to generate sine/triangle/square wave. The XR-2206 designed as an integrated monolithic function generator circuit that can produce high-quality sine, square, triangle, ramp, and pulse waveforms of high-stability and accuracy. The output of the signal generator waveforms can be both amplitude and frequency modulated by an external voltage. The XR-2206 Frequency of operation chosen externally over a range of 0.01Hz to more than 1MHz.
The circuit widely used in the areas such as communications, instrumentation, and function generator applications that require sinusoidal tone, AM, FM, or FSK generation. It offers a  typical drift specification of 20ppm/°C. And the oscillator frequency linearly swepts over a 2000:1 frequency range with an external control voltage while maintaining low distortion.
The XR-2206 with four inbuilt functional blocks performs the signal generating functions. They are; a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO), an analog multiplier and sine-shaper; a unity gain buffer amplifier; and a set of current switches. The VCO generates an output frequency proportional to an input current. A resistor can set this from the timing terminals to the ground. Thus the two discrete output frequencies independently produced with two-timing pins for FSK generation applications using the FSK input control pin. This input selects one of the timing resistor currents using the current switches and routes it to the VCO.
