A switched-mode power supply (SMPS) is an electronic circuit that converts power utilizing switching devices that are turned on and off at high frequencies, as well as storage components like inductors or capacitors to provide power while the switching device is not conducting.
An SMPS, like other power supplies, converts the voltage and current characteristics while transferring power from a DC or AC source (typically mains power) to DC loads, such as a personal computer. Unlike a linear power supply, a switching-mode supply’s pass transistor alternates between low-dissipation, full-on and full-off states all the time, spending relatively little time in the high-dissipation transitions, reducing wasted energy.
This is a 100W DC metal power supply with a 5V 20A SMPS. It works well and produces only a small amount of heat. Its consistent voltage output assures power supply stability. Overvoltage, short circuit, and overload protection are all included in the switching power supply. The anti-interference mechanism ensures that LED bulbs last a long period.
