The Digispark ATTINY85 Mini USB Development Board is similar to the Arduino. This small-sized board with great capability with a whole host of shields to extend its functionality and the ability to use the familiar Arduino IDE. Thus it is the perfect way to jump into microcontroller electronics.
Digispark ATTINY85 is a 20MHz high-performance, low-power Microchip 8-bit AVR RISC-based microcontroller. It comes with 8KB ISP flash memory, 512B EEPROM, 512-Byte SRAM, 6 general-purpose I/O lines, 32 general purpose working registers, one 8-bit timer/counter with compare modes, one 8-bit high-speed timer/counter, USI, internal and external Interrupts, 4-channel 10-bit A/D converter, programmable watchdog timer with internal oscillator, three software selectable power saving modes, and debug wire for on-chip debugging. The device operates at a voltage range of 2.7-5.5 volts and achieves a throughput of 20 MIPS at 20 MH. The device can achieve throughputs approaching 1 MIPS per MHz, by executing powerful instructions in a single clock cycle. This ensures excellent balancing power consumption and processing speed. Moreover, the ATTINY85 Mini USB Development Board can be directly programmed via USB without needing any other programmer.
Here Port B comes with a 6-bit bidirectional I/O port with internal pull-up resistors (selected for each bit). Moreover, Port B also functions for various special features of the ATtiny 85. The reset pin (pin 1) is also used as a (weak) I/O pin. Apart from the ATtiny85 Microcontroller IC, there are also other components on the board like a 5V Regulator, headers for I/O pins, a few passive components, and a MicroUSB port for programming and power supply.
