The AD8232 ECG sensor module consists of an integrated AD8232 IC used to measure the electrical activity of the heart. This cost-effective sensor module charts electrical activity as an ECG or Electrocardiogram and hereby outputs it as an analogue reading. These AD8232 ECG sensor modules extract, amplify, and filter small bio-potential signals. Usually, ECG is extremely noisy. As a result, the AD8232 Single Lead Heart Rate Monitor acts as an op-amp. Thus this op-amp help to achieve a clear signal from the PR and QT Intervals easily, even in the presence of noisy conditions. This AD8232 heart ECG monitoring sensor module functions as an integrated signal conditioning block for ECG and other bio-potential measurement applications.
During ECG, a number of sticky patches like electrodes (sensors) are attached to the chest and limb. It records the electrical signal which makes a heartbeat. Finally recorded in computer and displays on the monitor. The AD8232 module generates nine connections from the IC that you can solder via pins, wires, or other connectors too. SDN, LO+, LO-, OUTPUT, 3.3V, and GND provide essential pins for operating this monitor. Thus can be easily connected to an Arduino/Raspberry Pi, etc. Moreover, this board provides pins like the right arm (RA), left arm (LA) & right leg (RL) pins to connect custom sensors. An LED indicator in this board indicates the heartbeat rhythm of humans. The AD8232 ECG module features a quick restore function that decreases the length of long resolving tails of the HPFs.
