- Excellent sensitivity for urban canyon and foliage environments.
The GPS Modem with External Antenna designed as a complete GPS engine module. It features super sensitivity, ultra-low power, and a small form factor makes it the best choice to be embedded in various devices. This GPS module powered by the latest SiRF Star IVâ„¢, GSD4e ROM version chip, and RoyalTek proprietary navigation technology. Â This GPS Receiver designed with an External Active Antenna is quite easy to use with PC or MCU.
The GPS signal applied to the antenna input of the module. It consists of a complete serial data message with position, velocity, and time information presented at the serial interface with NMEA protocol or custom protocol. Due to the high tracking sensitivity of –163dBm, and autonomous Acquisition sensitivity -148dBm. Thus the module helps to extend positioning coverage into urban areas and dense foliage environments where the GPS was unable to reach before. Moreover, the small form factor and low power consumption make the module installation quite easier and simpler. Thus it can be easily integrated into portable devices like PNDs, mobile phones, cameras, and vehicle navigation systems. Moreover, it supports Dual Power Source, Serial, and TTL output Free GPS Active Antenna.
Applications
- LBS (Location-Based Service)
- PND (Portable Navigation Device)
- Vehicle navigation system
- Mobile phone
