Description

MAX3232 RS232 TO TTL Converter is a high-performance TTL/CMOS to RS232 convertor. Most of the microcontroller (PIC, ARM, and ATMEL) operates on TTL/CMOS logic. That means it communicates through 0v or +5v. But our computers operate with RS232 operating at a logic level of-24V or+24V. So we need to interface this microcontroller with the computers, in such cases, we need a TTL to RS232 converter. The MAX3232 are available in space-saving TSSOP and SSOP packages MAX3232 module consists of two LEDs that blink during the data receiving and data transmitting process. This module transmits data at a rate of 250kbps maintaining RS-232 output levels. The MAX3222 features a 1µA shutdown mode which reduces power consumption and extends battery life in portable systems. This module has a wide range of applications in PC interfacing, microcontroller-based projects, robotics, and experimental and educational purposes.

An internal power supply within the IC consists of a regulated dual charge pump that provides output voltages of +5.5V (doubling charge pump) and -5.5V (inverting charge pump), regardless of the input voltage (VCC) over the 3.0V to 5.5V range. The charge pumps are enabled when the output voltages are less than 5.5V and is disabled if the output voltages exceed 5.5V.
