A SI4432 wireless module is a highly integrated, single-chip ISM wireless transceiver. This module provides continuous frequency tuning over specified bands from 240–960 MHz. The maximum output power of +20DBm was achieved, which satisfies the development of RF signal amplification. The ultra-low-power S14432 wireless module operates at a voltage range of 1.8–3.6 V and has low current consumption. So SI4432 wireless module is an ideal solution for battery-powered applications.
SI4432 module operates as a time division duplexing (TDD) transceiver in which the device alternately transmits and receives data packets. The output 2-level FSK/GFSK/OOK modulated receive signals down-converted using a single converter to a low IF frequency. Then this signal is again fed to a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) where the signal is converted to the digital domain by a high-performance ADC. As a result, ADC performs filtering, demodulation, slicing, and packet handling within the inbuilt DSP. This increases the receiver’s performance and flexibility. The demodulated output signal is fed to the system MCU through a programmable GPIO or via the standard SPI bus by reading the 64-byte RX FIFO.
As the transmitter and receiver do not operate at the same time, a single high precision local oscillator (LO) is used. An integrated VCO generates LO and a Fractional-N PLL synthesizer. Moreover, the configurable data rates, output frequency, and frequency deviation at any frequency between 240–960 MHz are supported by these synthesizers. The transmit FSK data modulates directly into the data stream and thus shaped by a Gaussian low-pass filter to reduce unwanted spectral content. The Si4432 features frequency hopping, TX/RX switch control, and antenna diversity switch control to extend the link range and improve performance.
