A solar charge controller is an electrical device that regulates the power from the solar array that goes into the battery bank. It guarantees that the deep cycle batteries are not overcharged during the day, and that power is not returned to the solar panels overnight, causing the batteries to be drained. Although some charge controllers include extra features such as illumination and load management, their primary function is to manage electricity.
These solar charge controllers feature LCD displays that make it easy to switch between modes and configure various parameters while also clearly displaying the battery’s charging state. It works with 12V and 24V panels, and you may adjust the float voltage, discharge reconnect, discharge stop, and work mode. The float voltage is the maximum battery charge voltage (When you set the hours setting then load ON after sunset automatic). These solar charge controllers can be used with solar streetlights, solar power systems, etc. Furthermore, it is not appropriate for nickel hydride, lithium, Li-ions, or other batteries; only lead-acid batteries, including OPEN, AGM, and GEL.
Before the first installation, make sure your battery has an adequate voltage for the controller to identify the battery type. Only solar modules should be regulated by the charge regulator. Never attach an additional power source to the charge regulator.
