Nowadays, Power devices defined as innovative technology enabling future development of power converters and systems. ICE3BR1765JZ is a DIP-7 packaging version of the ICE3BR1765J. The jitter series CoolSET® -F3R (ICE3BRxx65J) is the most recent version of CoolSET® -F3. These ICs are designed specifically for OffLine battery adapters and low-cost SMPS for lower-power applications. For example, DVD R/W, DVD Combi, Blue ray DVD player, set top box, and so on. Apart from inheriting the CoolSET® -F3’s remarkable performance in BiCMOS technology, active burst mode, auto-restart protection, propagation delay correction, and so on.
This current mode controller IC also has additional features such as a built-in soft-start time, a built-in blanking window, built-in frequency jitter, soft gate driving, and more. In some cases, a longer blanking period is required for heavy load applications, in which case a simple addition of a capacitor to the BA pin might suffice. Furthermore, an external auto-restart enable-feature provides additional safety when power switching must be stopped immediately.
At light load and no load circumstances, the clever Active Burst Mode works by obtaining the lowest Standby Power. After entering the burst mode, the power conversion to the output is still fully controlled via the optocoupler used for normal PWM control. The voltage ripple on Vout was decreased and the responsiveness on load jumps was used. During this mode, the Vout is well-controlled. After the optocoupler, the traditionally externally attached RC-filter in the feedback line is incorporated into the IC to reduce the external part count. Furthermore, the IC had a high-voltage Startup Cell that turned off when the Undervoltage Lockout on-threshold of 18V was surpassed.
